man vs. spider

so lately i've been watching man vs. wild again - it's the show about bear grylls, the former british special forces dude/adventurer who is always purposefully getting himself lost (with only a knife, a flint, and a water bottle), and then finding his way back to civilization. i thought i could do pretty much everything he does, except for drinking my own pee, but then he took it to the next level. he ate a big ole crucifix spider while in australia. yep, he grabbed it off its web, squeezed its head, and put it in his mouth. i think i would probably choose starvation over eating a spider.
