does a bear pee in the woods... or desert?

if you haven't seen the tv show man vs. wild on the discovery channel, you are really missing out. it's about a guy named bear grylls, and ex-british special forces bloke and all-around outdoor adventurer. the premise of the show is that he recreates situations of getting stranded in various remote places with only his knife, a flint, and the clothes on his back - and he has 5 days to get himself rescued. he is normally dropped into a location by repelling/jumping from a helicopter, and sometimes he parachutes - like the episode where he stranded himself in the snow high up in the french alps. the dude eats roots, maggots, bird eggs (shells and all), and live fish. we're talkin' about taking a bite through the spine of a freshly-caught trout in order to kill it (he was ice fishing and couldn't build a fire). another favorite episode finds him stranded in the hot desert of utah. he makes a turbin out of his t-shirt, but realizes the only way to cool himself down (to stave off heatstroke) is to urinate all over the shirt and wrap it around his head and face! i would love to do what he does, except for the self-urination.
